North Queensland Camera Group
North Queensland Camera Group is a passionate photography club, meeting in Townsville to share and enjoy all aspects of photography. We offer a welcoming and encouraging environment for members to develop and share their photographic skills. We are a not-for-profit incorporated association.

Our Programs
Competitions
We run monthly photographic competitions in 3 to 4 genres (e.g. monochrome, open, set subject), a great way to develop your skills and have your images professionally critiqued.
-
New members who do not have a pre-existing grade from another club are first graded so that their images will be judged against those made by members of a similar skill level.
-
Each month members are invited to submit images online which are then sent to qualified judges from the Photographic Society of Queensland for scoring.
-
At the monthly club meetings, we view everyone’s image entries (no names are provided) and hear the judge’s scores and comments.
-
An Image of the Month is awarded for each genre in each division and judge’s scores accumulate and go towards annual photographer and image awards.

Learning & Development
We hold monthly Learning and Development (L&D) nights.
-
This is a friendly, open and relaxed forum where experience and skills can be shared and questions answered.
-
Some of our experienced members present education material in the form of PowerPoint presentations, videos, workshops and practical demonstrations.
-
We cover a wide variety of subjects for members of all levels from beginner through to advanced.
-
We also include material that will assist members in upcoming competition genres (e.g. portraits, still life, etc.).

Activities
The club organises field trips in and around Townsville and further abroad.
-
This gives you the opportunity socialise and interact with others who share your passion.
-
Members can expand upon their portfolios in a supportive environment.
-
A fun way to learn new skills.
