Ross Creek Townsville

Our Programs

Competitions

The club offers monthly competitions ( 10 months of the year ) for digital images in Set Subjects, Monochrome, Open and Creative photography. Competitions are run in Divisions, allowing participants to compete in similar skill levels. Our competitions are judged by qualified judges from the Photographic Society of Queensland. They give valuable advice to assist members in improving their skills. The club participates in Inter-Club competitions on a regular basis.

Learning & Development

The group has an experienced L&D team, who present educational material for beginner, intermediate & advanced level photographers. This material may consist of a mixture of video presentations, practical demonstrations, and open discussions where encouragement and support is provided.  Presentations may also be given by guest speakers and professionals within the industry.

Field Trips

The club organises outings both in and around Townsville and further abroad. These outings give the members the opportunity to expand upon their portfolios, in an environment that is supportive and inclusive. These excursions also allow members, to building lasting relationship with photographers who have similar interest.

Focus Groups

Joining a Focus Group will improve your photographic skills at your own pace, in a wide range of photographic subjects. This may include subjects from light-hearted ones to those of a more serious nature.  Focus Groups are run for the members by the members.

Facebook Page

We have an informal Facebook page which is for members only. This allows members to display their images, seek and or share technical advice. Each month has a different theme and the winner takes all by setting the theme for the following months competition. As a bonus their winning image is showcased on the Facebook banner.

Community Support

Our club and its members support community organisations by assisting with and participating in community events.
